Teachers day is an important and emotional occasion for us. We deeply value and love it. On every year the teachers day is very special, we thank and respect our teachers, not just for teaching subjects, but for guiding us in life and inspiring us beyond academics. Last year, rather than doing the normal teachers day like cutting cake or giving gifts at school or college, I wanted to do something more special to my teachers. My friends planned something creative and different, and that idea ended up becoming a beautiful and memorable moment for us. The idea began when we were chatting casually in our college friends group. One of our friends had earlier arranged a birthday party at the farmhouse close to Osman Sagar lake, and he told us we should book that place again. The farmhouse had a big swimming pool just for us, a big garden area, comfortable places to sit inside, and a spot to grill food, all the things we wanted for a fun and relaxing teachers day celebration.

The Location: A Hidden Gem Near Shamshabad

We rented a nice farmhouse located in Shamshabad, which is about 45 minutes away from Hyderabad city by car. When we walked into the farmhouse, we saw lots of green trees and plants. We could hear the bird's sound, and the air felt clean and fresh. The farmhouse had a beautiful view of hills nearby. The place felt calm and quiet, very different from the noisy and busy city life. The farmhouse was the best choice for celebrating Teachers' Day in a private and special way. The people who worked at the farmhouse were very friendly. They also helped us decorate the place for the event. We brought printed signs, old photos from when we were in school, and personal thank you letters for our teachers. A few of us came early to decorate the farmhouse. We put up balloons, small twinkling lights and made a photo wall showing old and new pictures of the teachers and students.

The Celebration: Laughter, Tears, and Timeless Memories

We asked around 20 students to join us. Out of those 20 people, 10 students are my best friends, along with their families and the two main teachers we wanted to honor. When teachers entered the place, they looked really happy and surprised. One of the teachers said, I never imagined this, because she was so touched and happy. We began the event with a light meal with tea and snacks. After the tea, we played a fun quiz where we asked questions related to our school days. Some of the fun quiz questions are, who was often found sleeping in the class, and Who brought the most delicious or interesting lunch. Everyone kept laughing throughout the quiz because the questions were funny and reminded them of good memories. After the quiz, we took turns talking about how our teachers influenced and changed our lives in a positive way. One student said that physics teacher helped him choose to become a data scientist (someone who works with data to find patterns and solve problems). Another student said that the writing lessons taught by an English teacher helped him become a content creator (someone who makes online content like blogs, videos, or articles).

The best and most special part of the day was a surprise video we made. The video had short messages recorded by former students living in different parts of the world. Each student spoke a few words about how much they appreciated the teachers. After watching the video, everyone became emotional—in a good way. Some even cried with happiness. For lunch, we had tasty food made in Hyderabadi style like biryani, kebabs, and sweet dishes. A nearby catering service cooked and delivered all the food. After eating lunch, we cut a cake that someone had made at home. On the cake, it was written as Happy Teachers’ Day to the Best Mentors Ever, a message to thank and honor the teachers. In the evening, we had fun playing board games, swimming and relaxing in the pool, Taking group pictures with the beautiful view. When it came to the evening we all sat near the bonfire and having tea and coffee and sharing our school and collage memories with our loved teachers.

Why It Was Worth It

Planning the celebration at a farmhouse rental made everyone feel more relaxed and helped us bond better with each other. At the farmhouse, we didn’t have to leave at a certain time like we would in a hotel or restaurant. We could laugh as much as we wanted, walk whatever we liked, and enjoy the fresh air and greenery without anyone stopping us. It wasn't just a fun gathering, it was a meaningful way to show love and respect to our teachers. The teachers said this was the best and most unforgettable celebration they had ever been a part of.
