Celebrate Hanuman Jayanthi with your family at a farmhouse rentals

Hanuman Jayanti is a festival celebrated by Hindus. This festival honors the birth of hanuman, a powerful and devoted deity. Hanuman is one of the main characters in the Indian epic called Ramayana. The date and way of celebrating festivals are not the same everywhere. Different states and regions in India follow their own customs and calendars to observe this festival. In northern India, people celebrate hanuman jayanthi on the full moon day that falls in the Hindu month called Chaitra. This usually happens in March or April in the Gregorian calendar. In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, hanuman Jayanthi is called Anjaneya Jayanthi. It is celebrated on a specific day called Bahula Dashami in the Vaisakha month, based on the Telugu calendar. In Odisha, people celebrate Hanuman Jayanthi on the day of Pana Sankranti. This day is also the Odia New Year, marking the start of a new year according to the Odia calendar. So, for Odia people, Hanuman's birth celebration and their New Year fall on the same day.

If you want to truly understand and feel connected to your culture, traditions, I truly recommend you Celebrate Hanuman Jayanthi with Your Family at a Farmhouse Rental—it’s an experience that stays with you.

A Break from the busy City

We went to a nice farmhouse near Shamshabad. It took us about one hour to drive there from our home in Hyderabad. The place was very beautiful. There were a lot of big trees, a big outdoor garden and a big swimming pool. When we went inside the farmhouse, my parents were very happy. They smiled like little kids. My mom said "Idi nijamga mana palle atmosphere laane undi". This really feels like our village, just like the place where our family came from long ago. That night, we started getting ready for the special day. We bought a lord hanuman idol. We also brought kumkuma, turmeric, flowers and things to make Prasadam. The Prasadam had Boondi called laddus and bananas. There was no TV and no noisy cars and we could hear bird sounds. It felt peaceful and happy.

The Morning of Hanuman Jayanthi

We woke up early, before sunrise. My mom made the first rangoli in the garden while I boiled water for our head bath. My dad lit the diya and chanted the hanuman Chalisa aloud. It reflects in the peaceful silence, feeling emotional. We decorated the mandapam with marigolds, mango leaves, and local flowers from the garden. My mom made panakam, Vadapappu, and laddus. Offering everything to lord Hanuman felt like a personal connection. This is when I thought to myself—The Morning of Hanuman Jayanthi at a Farmhouse Rental, and you’ll rediscover a whole new meaning to devotion.

Togetherness, the Telugu Way

After the pooja, We all sat down to eat lunch on banana leaves. Amma made pulihora, and sweet pongal with ingredients we got from a nearby village market. The food tasted so yummy because of the fresh air and peaceful place. My dad told us an untold story about Hanuman in a peaceful atmosphere, just like his father used to tell him during festivals.

Afterward, we sang bhajans and walked around the garden. Watching my parents laugh and relax under the trees felt more special like going to a temple.

Final thoughts

My parents still talk about that day. We already decided to do it every year and maybe invite more family next time. From the early morning chants to the tasty Telugu food and the quiet time under the big sky, everything felt just right. So if you are thinking about what to do for the next Hanuman Jayanthi, this is a great idea. Celebrate Hanuman Jayanthi at a Farmhouse Rental and make it a memory you’ll cherish for life.
